1. Elon Musk: Trump will be 're-elected in a landslide' if indicted

In response to a tweet suggesting that a Trump indictment would "be the beginning of Trump's re-election," Twitter CEO Elon Musk predicted Saturday that "if this happens, Trump will be re-elected in a landslide victory."

The current RealClearPolitics average of polls measuring voter preferences in a hypothetical matchup between Trump and President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election shows Biden beating Trump by 1.2 percentage points. A lead in the popular vote does not necessarily translate to a win in the Electoral College, as Trump won 306 out of 538 electoral votes in the 2016 presidential election while losing the popular vote to Democrat Hillary Clinton by 2.1 percentage points.
