'Fixer Upper' Season 5 News: Upcoming Series Features Joanna Gaines' Sister's New Waco Home

According to the social media updates of "Fixer Upper" star Joanna Gaines, one of the season 5 home reveals is extra special because the project is sister Mary Kay's new home in Waco, Texas.

"Fixer Upper" is one of the hit reality shows on HGTV that is focused on covering the business of buying and remodeling houses. However, this series specifically shows home renovations within the city of Waco. The show premiered in 2013 and is set for its fifth season which will air later this year.

It appears that the Gaines couple - Joanna and her husband Chip - has worked on a very special home project that will be featured in "Fixer Upper" season 5.

In a recent social media post on Joanna's Instagram, she shared a photo of her and her sister with the caption: "Today's house was my all-time favorite #fixerupper ...we got to reveal this house to my sweet sis and her family of seven (going on 8!)."

What made the project even more important for Joanna was the fact that her sister and her family had not lived in Waco for the past nine years.

"I can't contain the excitement-after nine years they are finally coming back to Waco! Can't wait for you to see this episode," Joanna added.

The home designer also hinted at what to expect from her sister's newly-designed home with the hashtag "#vintagemodern" on the same Instagram post.

Fans of the show may recall that Mary Kay once appeared in earlier seasons of the show to help Joanna on a project. This time, she was back as her sister's client to make her return to Waco even more special.

While the teaser about Joanna's sister's new home was revealed midway into their filming for "Fixer Upper" season 5, Starcasm pointed out that it does not necessarily represent the sequence of when Mary Kay's house will be featured on the show.

The fifth season of "Fixer Upper" is expected to return on Tuesday, Nov. 28 on HGTV.
