Flash Mob at Walmart: 300 Trash and Rob Florida Store
A flash mob of 300 teenagers have attacked a Walmart store in Jacksonville, Florida, destroying merchandise, throwing groceries and goods around the store, and frightening other shoppers.
The group of 300 teens converged on the Walmart after police broke up their party that was taking place nearby. Police have reported that one person was shot in the leg at the party, which sparked their decision to shut the party down.
However, the mass flash mob left the party angry and looking for trouble, descending together on the unsuspecting Walmart store nearby. The mob trashed the store, also allegedly stealing various goods including an anti-shoplifting security scanner which was valued at $1,500.
Police are said to not have made any arrests at the scene, but are looking to make a wave of arrests in the aftermath of the mob attack.
According to reports, hundreds of youth ran from the teen party after police showed up with sirens and lights on. However, that would go on to only spark a further incident just 90 minutes later in the local Walmart store.
Some witnesses have described some gun shots being fired outside the store, but there have been no known incidences of customers or vehicles being hit by the shots. However, many of the teens in the mob group filmed the chaos inside the Walmart store as they wreaked havoc, and subsequently posted the footage up on video sharing site YouTube.
In the footage, teens can be seen throwing items from the grocery section of the store, as well as pushing one another around recklessly in Walmart shopping carts. Some members of the mob can be heard shouting, telling his friends to move their group on to a local Wendy's restaurant. It is unknown whether the Wendy's was also hit by the flash mob.
