Flavor Flav Arrested for Assault With Deadly Weapon in Las Vegas
William Drayton Jr., who is better known as Flavor Flav, was arrested early Wednesday morning and booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
Flavor Flav was arrested outside of his Las Vegas home on Wednesday after his live-in fiancé called police. Once a prominent member of the hip-hop group Public Enemy, the musician fell out of the public eye until the VH1 series called "The Surreal Life." Drayton also appeared in "Strange Love" and "Flavor of Love."
Drayton's fiancé called 911 after an alleged argument got out of hand, leading to the injury of a teenage boy who was also in the home at the time. A complete list of charges included felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor domestic violence (battery) according to TMZ.
While few details surrounding the incident were released, law enforcement sources reported to TMZ that Drayton held a knife to one person assaulted the other. He was arrested at approximately 3 am and is currently being held on a $23,000 bail.The report did not specify which person was assaulted and whether or not the teen involved in the incident was Drayton's son.
Drayton currently shares his Las Vegas home with his fiancé Liz Trujillo, and her son Gibran. In addition he has seven children, three with Karen Ross and three were with Angie Parke. He has his youngest child with Trujillo.
Aside from numerous drug charges and violations of traffic laws, Drayton was also arrested in 1991 after pleading to assault on then girlfriend Karen Ross, for which he served 30 days in jail. In 1993 Drayton was arrested again and served 90 days for firing a gun at his neighbor.
