'Flip or Flop' News: Ex-Couple Tarek and Christina El Moussa Won't Appear in Spinoffs

"Flip or Flop" has been confirmed to get five spinoffs in the next two years as it expands to five different markets including Chicago, Atlanta, Texas, Nashville and Las Vegas. While that is good news for the show, the bad news is that its original stars might no longer appear in the future spinoffs.

The HGTV show centers on a husband and wife who flip houses in California. Since its debut, "Flip or Flop" has had so much drama flying around not only on air but off air as well. In May last year, the original husband and wife stars of the show Tarek and Christina El Moussa officially broke up. The events leading up to the split was so intense and dramatic that a helicopter had to respond to a call of a "suicidal man with a gun" at their residence.

According to reports, the spinoffs had long been in production before Tarek and Christina broke up, so there is no way they won't push through. HGTV's general manager of U.S. programming and development Allison Page revealed in a recent interview that the show has been a huge success and they're excited to bring new chapters, stories and even talents to it.

The executive confirmed that the first spinoff will premiere on April 6 in Las Vegas and will be hosted by a new couple, Bristol and Aubrey Marunde. The Marundes teased that fans of the show can expect classic Sin City flashiness to be featured in the first spinoff. "I bring in a lot of chandeliers and lighting and hardware and things that take the properties over the top," said Aubrey.

Meanwhile, the latest episode of "Flip or Flop" saw more drama when the ex-husband and wife told their sides of their breakup. The hit reality show was steeped in tension when Christina accused her ex-husband of copying her style and ambushed him with a hose, hacking off Tarek.
