The video also depicts voodoo where Welsh is injured when the doll resembling her is pinned by a contortionist dancer.

The religious imagery and voodoo doll has sparked a heated debate on the band’s YouTube channel, resulting in many people claiming the video references the Illuminati and Satan worship. The site includes over 1,000 posts where fans and critics weigh the band’s intentions in the new music video.

Some viewers believe that the video bears a racist message. One viewer named MrBadgerken commented on the video, writing, “I’m sure the intentions were good, but I’m sorry, you simply cannot have a video where an ethereal white woman is chased by muscular raggedly-dressed black men using voodoo and not set off a whole world of negative connotations and emotions. Thoughtless.”

Viewer Luke agreed, writing, “I think Florence should come out to the public and at least explain herself. Maybe even apologize. Even if she didn’t mean it, many people got offended by this unfortunate video.”

Many other comments argued that the video was “art” and that the musicians behind the video did an excellent job shooting it, leading to an intense stream of banter on YouTube.
