Florida Police, 'Roy Antigua A Serial Imposter'

Florida police are looking for information about a "serial imposter" known as Lt. Cmdr. Roy Antigua and need the public's help. Antigua owns an overwhelming amount of police, military, and medical uniforms, which has police worried that he may be acting in the roles.

"We need to know, from start to finish, who is Roy Antigua?" New Port Richey Police Chief James Steffens told the Tampa Bay Times. "Everybody around there thought that he was the real deal."

After authorities searched Antigua's home on an unrelated charge, they discovered a plethora of uniforms, along with a doctor's bag of instruments, badges with his name listed, and a photo of him in scrubs, holding a newborn. It was worrisome for the police force, who is now investigating whether he played a part in the baby's delivery.

"Is he really a threat or is he someone who is living a very involved fantasy life?" Steffens asked at press conference. Antigua had a stash of ammunition, but no firearms were found in the home; his car contained flashing blue lights and handcuffs.

All that is known about Antigua is that he served in the Coast Guard in Miami but was kicked out after being arrested on a grand theft charge. He is currently behind bars at the Pasco jail after the arrest for violating his probation. When Officer Ed Campbell noticed Antigua's ID was fake, Steffens began investigating.

"He is remorseful," Steffens said. "He said this was something that got out of hand. You don't have this collection just to keep it in your house and look in the mirror," he explained. If it is found that Antigua is guilty of abusing privileges, he could face serious charges.

Steffens has encouraged anyone who may have been in contact with Antigua to call the police at (727) 841-4550.
