Floyd Mayweather News: "Money May" defends Rousey from internet trolls, denies involvement in 50 Cent meme post

Despite their verbal tirades in the past, Floyd Mayweather is actually on Ronda Rousey's side this time around.

"Rowdy" tasted her first loss in professional mixed martial arts when former boxing world champion Holly Holm knocked her out at UFC 193 this past weekend. Holm now holds the belt Rousey has had around her waist since 2012. Mayweather and Rousey have been exchanging words since the middle of 2014.

It all began with "Money May's" response to a question asking if he knew who Rousey was.

"I don't know who he is," Mayweather said.

Rousey's comeback came during this ESPY Awards, where she was named Fighter of the Year.

"I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once," Rousey said in an interview. "I'd like to see him pretend to not know who I am now."

It all seemed to have ended after Rousey's Saturday night loss. In an interview with Ben Thompson of Fight Hype, Mayweather showed more compassion towards the former UFC bantamweight queen, and even went as far as defending her from haters online.

"I don't think it's cool how everyone is trolling her on social media. Certain things you have to learn," Mayweather said. "People will love you on Friday and then Sunday morning, it's nothing but negative comments and people making jokes and people making fun about you, which I don't think is cool."

"I've never been on the other side, so I don't know how it feels," he continued. "I'm pretty sure she's a very, very strong person, but we still have to take into consideration that she has feelings."

Right after the fight, rapper 50 Cent posted a meme on Instagram, mocking Rousey. He then claimed that it was Mayweather who asked him to do so, which Floyd Junior himself, denied.

"That's not true at all," Mayweather clarified. "I haven't really spoke to anyone about the Ronda Rousey situation, just to set the record straight. I don't have anything against MMA fighters.

"It's just like boxing; you win some, you lose some. A true champion can take a loss and bounce back."
