Floyd Mayweather on Ronda Rousey Knockout at UFC 193: Lambasts Rousey through rapper 50 Cent?
Floyd Mayweather has apparently shared his thoughts on the recently concluded UFC 193 event over the weekend.
The card headlined by UFC bantamweights Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm ended in a shocker, when the latter knocked out the former in the second round of their fight. Prior to the bout, many considered Rousey as a combat sports phenom, with Sports Illustrated even branding her as the "most dominant athlete alive".
Which was why Saturday night's ending became more compelling for fight fans, particularly seeing a global superstar like "Rowdy" being dominated in such a manner. Some of her previous rivals, namely Miesha Tate and Cristiane "Cyborg" Justino also made it a point to kick her while she is down through their own post-fight reactions.
The most notable one, however, came from the Floyd Mayweather camp, as claimed by rapper 50 Cent.
In an Instagram post he made after the fight, Mayweather's former friend and business partner showed an image of Rousey's knocked out state placed over a dying Apollo Creed's body resting on Rocky Balboa's hand, in a scene from the iconic film Rocky IV.
The photo's caption claims Mayweather was the one who initiated the post.
"LMAO FLOYD TOLD ME TO POST THIS, he want me to do the dirty work. #EFFENVODKA #FRIGO #SMSAUDIO," 50 Cent wrote.
The Instagram post has since been taken down.
Mayweather and Rousey had been trading verbal jabs for months now. It all began when Rousey slammed Mayweather right after she won the 2015 ESPY Fighter of the Year award.
"I can't help but really say that I wonder how Floyd [Mayweather] feels being beat by a woman for once. I'd like to see you pretend to not know who I am now."
Mayweather did respond to Rousey soon after, in his trademark "Money May" fashion.
"I just say that I've yet to see any MMA fighter or other boxer make over $300 million in 36 minutes," Mayweather said. "When she can do that? Call me."
