'For Honor' Title Update Arrives With Balance Changes After Players Organize Boycott
Ubisoft has recently issued Title Update 1.05 for "For Honor" that contains several balance changes. The release came after players organized a 24-hour boycott of the game.
According to some "For Honor" players, Ubisoft was not giving the amount of attention they think is necessary for the developer to give on the issues that they raised, which include knowing their future plans for the game, fixing the matchmaking aspect, and issuing balance changes.
On April 3, Ubisoft issued a small patch that included the addition of the River Fort map and announced plans to re-introduce the High Fort map as well. However, players were still determined to push through with the boycott plans despite the update issued.
A couple of days after the minor patch, Ubisoft followed it up with a more complex title update with more bug fixes and balance changes.
When players are in Revenge Mode, stats on Attack and Defense will no longer matter. However, the only parameters that would count in the said game mode are the particular Revenge Attack and Revenge Defense stats.
On Revenge Defense mode, maximum bonus has also been decreased to 32.1 percent from 48.2 percent, while Ubisoft decreased the maximum penalty to be deducted from -16.1 percent to -10.6 percent.
As for the Elimination mode, players will not be able to find boosts as soon as the game starts. These items will only become available after 20 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Skirmish mode has also had its updates, such as an increased Hero Kill reward from 27 to 35 points, the lowest Streak Kill bonus being upped to 10 while the highest is 30, players assisting an ally will now get 15 points instead of 10, and it will now only take 10 seconds (instead of 12) to respawn bases and more.
One of the fixes added through Title Update 1.05 involves the Counter Guardbreak ability, which will not be influenced by the Debuff Gear Stat. "Guard Break can be countered if you press Guard Break within 200ms. The way we've handled this mechanic so far caused that time window to shrink if you were using Gear with Debuff Duration Stat. It wasn't intended, so we've updated how this works to guarantee the 200ms Guardbreak Interrupt window regardless of Gear," developers explained.
