'For Honor' News, Updates: What the 1,500 (and Counting) Players Got Banned For
For some players who give common alibis such as "real life stands in the way," resorting to cheating, no matter how large-scale or small, is usually an option they go into. This is something that Ubisoft Entertainment is not taking lying down, and so it has decided to strike cheaters down with the ban hammer.
In the latest hack-and-slash title, "For Honor," it has been reported that some players are exploiting what they call away from keyboard (AFK) farming. This is causing distraught in the community, especially for those who have had their share of playing legitimately, prompting Ubisoft to take swift action.
On a Reddit post, it has been revealed that a total of 1,500 players have received a temporary three-day ban for engaging in the said exploit. Moreover, they have also mentioned that 4,000 new AFK farmers have been detected by the system, and that they will receive a warning accordingly.

While the ban may only be temporary, the team behind the game gave a firm warning about cheat engine-driven AFK farming. They have said that players who utilize such will be given the ultimate permanent ban.
It can be recalled that the "For Honor" team has gently warned the community in the past via their official website about the consequences of cheating, detailing what they can expect once they are found out. It is said that the first instance merits a warning, while continuous practice will result in either temporary or permanent ban depending on the severity.
To clarify, the team explained what they consider as AFK farming: "Players are able to go AFK (away from keyboard) and keep their in-game character moving throughout a match (ex. tying a rubber band on the control stick), garnering end-game rewards and progression without actually playing."
Obviously, Ubisoft is trying to maintain a fair playing field, as it should be, for the benefit of everyone enjoying the game.
