For King & Country 'Into The Silent Night' Christmas EP Makes Waves
"New Artist of The Year" 2013 Dove Award-winning duo For King & Country recently dropped Into The Silent Night just in time for the holidays.
The five-track EP, which features "Little Drummer Boy" and "Angels We Have Heard On High" among others, has been hailed by various critics since its October release. JesusFreakHideOut noted that the EP "manages to impress quite a bit."
The Christian rock duo, made up of Joel and Luke Smallbone, teamed up with Seth Mosley and Ainslie Grosser, who co-produced the Christmas EP.
The Australian-born brothers have had an incredible year following the release of their 2012 studio album Crave. The album was named 2012 "Breakthrough Christian & Gospel Album of the Year" by iTunes.
"It's always special when you have people saying we support what you do, because the reason why we do music is because we write hopefully, hope-filled music that inspires other people," Luke told The Christian Post exclusively at the 44th Dove Awards after picking up the "New Artist Of The Year" award.
In January, the talented duo appeared on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno." Their song "The Proof of Your Love" was named Amazon.com's 2012 "Christian Song of the Year."
The duo previously opened up about how they began singing Christian music. The brothers have been writing music together for eight years.
"Naturally we love life and we love Jesus and so inevitably we like to look at ourselves as endeavoring to write honest songs about life," Joel said. "One of the indelible parts about that is going to be writing about our love for Jesus, our love for our wives, our love for our friends ... all of these different principles."
For King & Country is scheduled to perform in a number of upcoming shows.
