Former Korn Guitarist Washes Away His Anger In Jordan River
Only weeks after professing his belief in Jesus Christ, former Korn guitarist Brian Head Welch was baptized in the Jordan River last Saturday.
With Jesus tattooed across his knuckles and Matthew 11:28 along his neck, Welch received full immersion in the historic river, along with 20 other white-robed Christians from a Bakersfield, CA church, under Pastor Ron Vietti.
According to the Associated Press, Welch said the ritual baptism, washed away his anger.
"You know when you get angry and it builds up? I felt like hurting someone before, now I feel like hugging people," said Welch.
Welch announced his resignation from Korn late last month after helping found the band 13 years ago. In a testimony given last week at Valley Bible Fellowship in Bakersfield, CA, the guitarist said that Christ allowed him to move past a lengthy depression and alcohol addiction that had overcome him in recent years: a story that resulted in nearly 200 people accepting Jesus into their lives.
"In recent weeks people have committed their lives to God because they're so inspired by his story," Vietti said.
As far as Welchs musical career is concerned, the guitarists newfound faith has re-ignited his passion to write and perform, this time with a more powerful message in mind.
"My songs are God saying things to me, him talking to people, Welch said. He's going to use me to heal people and people are going to be drawn to it, just watch, they will be.
