Former Southern Baptist Head Mourns Death of Daughter
Southern Baptists are pouring out support for their former president, Frank Page, whose daughter recently died.
Melissa Page Strange died Friday at age 32.
According to the North American Mission Board, the domestic mission agency of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Page family released a statement saying they "encountered one of the most tragic events parents have to face – the loss of a child."

Details about the cause of her death were not released.
Frank Page and his wife, Dayle, said the event is "still too fresh to recount at this time." They have asked for prayers.
Page served as the head of the Southern Baptist Convention – the largest Protestant denomination in the country – in 2006-2008. He now serves as vice president of evangelization for the North American Mission Board and is also is one of 25 members of President Obama's advisory council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.
The death of Page's daughter comes just a year after evangelist Greg Laurie and singer/songwriter Steven Curtis Chapman lost their son and daughter, respectively, in separate car accidents.
Melissa Page Strange was one of three daughters. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Royce Strange III.
Funeral services will reportedly be held Monday at Taylors First Baptist Church, where Frank Page recently served as pastor.
