Four Words for Every Person Who Is Single
There are lots of people in "single world" these days. I know the struggles of being single, I did not get married until I was 28 years old. Today I hope the following four words encourage you if you are single...
#1 - Patience
If you rush into marriage, you will be tempted to rush out when the other person seems to stop meeting your needs. Singleness is NOT a sickness, it's a season in which the Lord will teach you invaluable things about yourself and other people if you will only patiently participate with Him in the process.
#2 - Pursuit
The best decision (right now) for a single person is to decide to pursue Jesus...and do that every single day for the rest of your life.
All too often the pursuit of a dating relationship often causes a person to take their eyes off of Jesus; however, please remember that if a person takes your eyes off of Jesus rather than drawing you closer to Him, you probably don't need to be with that person.
#3 - Passion
Ask yourself this question: If God were to give me to someone right now, would I be a blessing to them...or a curse?
Have the honesty to answer that question. If you see gaps in your life that may cause you to be a curse do not be discouraged, but rather allow those things to be motivation to ask Jesus to shape your heart and set it on fire to pursue Christ, the only One who can take a curse and turn it into a blessing.
#4 - Perspective
Remember this – God is a good God who wants good things for His children. Whatever your plans are for you--God wants better. Anytime you begin to see a relationship drifting into serious territory you need to honestly ask yourself, "is this immeasurably more than anything I could have asked for or imagined?" If the answer is "no" then know that God has more in store...and that He has called His children to do many things, but compromise is not one of them.
