France Bans Rihanna Video 'We Found Love'
Rihanna's new explicit video “We Found Love” has been banned from airing before 10 p.m. in France.
For the popular singer it is not the first time that she has had her video banned as her provocative video for “S&M” was banned in more than 10 countries worldwide.
Her “Talk That Talk” album has also been stirring controversy as many accuse the singer of making it her most suggestive album yet.
Not one to go by half measures Rihanna has gone further despite the bad press she’s been getting; taking part in an explicit new photo shoot where she stands in revealing clothing with hands touching her.
The singer has continuously refused to accept that she should be more of a role model for younger children that are some of her most devoted fans, and commercially, if not morally, Rihanna’s method has worked as she’s gone to number one on iTunes in more than 20 countries worldwide.
France ruled that enough was enough however, and the Supreme Audiovisual Council of France ruled the video is too explicit for daytime TV and now can only be broadcast after 10 p.m.
Rihanna has said: “We’ve never done a video like this before. This is probably one of the deepest videos I’ve ever done. It’s all about love and love being like a drug… you definitely get that from this.
“The good feeling of it and the dangers of it. That’s what this video is about.”
The video starts with Rihanna saying, “I saw you screaming when no-one can hear. You always feel ashamed that someone could be that important that without them, you feel like nothing.
“No one will ever understand how much it hurts. You feel hopeless, like nothing can save you. Then when it's over, it's gone, you almost wish you could have all that bad stuff back, so that you can have the good.”
The video goes on to feature a physical relationship between Rihanna and former boxer Dudley, and includes scenes of smoking drugs and drinking alcohol.
Whilst filming the video Rihanna famously took to a field dressed skimpily, which upset field owner, Alan Graham, 61, who asked her to leave. He said: “If someone wants to borrow my field and things become inappropriate, then I say, "Enough is enough". I wish no ill will against Rihanna and her friends. Perhaps they could acquaint themselves with a greater God.”
