Franklin Graham Set to 'Rock the River' in Canada
The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association will officially kick off its Rock the River Tour in Western Canada on Saturday, starting with a one-day event at the Millennium Park in Fraser Valley.
The first-ever Rock the River Tour attracted thousands of people last year when it debuted in the U.S. with a series of day-long concerts along the Mississippi River.
The BGEA is looking for similar results when it debuts the Rock the River Tour in Canada.
"For so many young people their lives are upside down and in a mess and they don't even know why," said Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the BGEA and international relief organization Samaritan's Purse. "That's why I'm so excited to have this opportunity to share the message of God's love with all of these young people. It's a chance to change thousands of lives."
Like its American counterpart, the Rock the River Tour West is an evangelistic summer concert series that features seven hours of "high-voltage" music and brief, challenging messages by Franklin Graham.
Starting with Fraser Valley, the one-day events will rock their way across Western Canada, passing through Calgary (Aug. 21) and Edmonton (Aug. 28).
Among the artists who will be joining Graham are Flyleaf, Skillet, Hawk Nelson, Lecrae, Tedashii, Downhere, Starfield, Thousand Foot Krutch and more.
