FRC to Speak at 'Healthy Marriage Initiative' Press Conference

Representatives from the Southern Baptist Convention, Family Research Council and Concerned Women for America will speak at a press conference on President Bush's proposed 'Healthy Marriage Initiative' Wednesday, March 31, at 3:30 PM EST, after the U.S. Senate took up this week the reauthorization of the 1996 Welfare Reform bill, which includes funding for abstinence education and the Healthy Marriage Initiative.

The conference will be held in the the Mansfield Room at the U.S. Capitol.

According to FRC’s Web site, Tony Perkins is the author of the nation's first covenant marriage law and will speak out in support of the Initiative and the government's role in promoting long-lasting marriages.
