Fredrick Denney Demands Pizza and Marriage to Paris Hilton in Police Stand-Off
Fredrick Denney, an Oregon man, has been arrested for barricading himself into a North Carolina hotel room and making demands for police to immediately bring him a Pizza and celebrity socialite Paris Hilton.
Denney, 61, barricaded himself into a second floor apartment of the Hampton Inn in Belmont, N.C. and demanded that police bring him Hilton and bizarrely demanded that she would marry him. If his demands were not met he claimed that he shoot his gun at police officers.
Police spent hours trying to talk to Denney out of his strange demands, and in fact several agencies were reportedly involved in the effort to talk the man out of his room. At one point even a Regional SWAT team was deployed to help the situation. However, eventually it was good old fashioned police work that prevailed, and Denney was pepper sprayed in the face before being taken into custody.
Authorities are familiar with Denney, who comes from Roseburg, Ore. and it has been confirmed that he has had previous dealings with SWAT teams after causing problems.
Denney has been taken to hospital for mental evaluation, according to police. He has been charged with being "intoxicated and disorderly" local authorities have confirmed.
