Freestyle Fam Releases Free Mixtape 'Just Thoughts'
'Hip-Hop is a Primary Tool in Reaching the Ears of Unbelievers,' Says Rapper
Christian rap duo Freestyle are back with a new powerful and hard hitting mixtape called Just Thoughts, which can be downloaded for free and promises "Lyricism," "Raw [emotion]," and "New York [style]," while promoting the gospel of Jesus.
The Just Thoughts Mixtape is the second mixtape release by Freestyle Fam, and this record surely outdoes the last one and can be downloaded at - (http://www.freestylefam.com/music/just-thoughts/).
Rappers Quest the Wordsmith and Redeemed have unashamedly been taking their hip-hop to the street and clubs all across New York City since 2011 and have been evangelizing every opportunity they get.
Whether they are freestyle rapping on street corners or on onstage at festivals, Christ is injected into every facet of their music, sound, and walk of life.
In a previous interview with The Christian Post, Redeemed said, "I feel Hip-Hop is a primary tool in reaching the ears of non-believers. Hip-Hop is a culture. It has a following so strong and in depth, it almost serves as a living-breathing organism in the world today. As a MC, I find that being effective in the arena of Hip-Hop is not just something I love to do but something I'm called to do."
He continued, "I'd go as far to say that if a believer can be effective in the Hip-Hop game of today, they can be taking part of something that not only brings salvation but transforms an entire culture in and of itself. Unfortunately I don't feel many Christians share the same approach to this vision that I do, or may think they do but don't realize they aren't walking it out."
Today Freestyle Fam released their first single off of their next mixtape, "Bar Fights," which can be downloaded for free at - (http://soundcloud.com/freestylefam/bar-fights-thefreestylefam). The song also features fellow Christian rappers, R.kitect and Buck Barnabas.
The last thing Freestyle Fam wants to let their fans know is, "We hope that you love all the new music we've been releasing. We also want you to know that we've got more stuff on the way. In a few weeks, we're going to be dropping a video for the the new mixtape, so you're going to want to keep your eyes peeled for that."
