2. Donald Trump entered the world of business when he took over the family real estate firm from his father in 1971. Renaming it from Elizabeth Trump & Son to The Trump Organization, he vigorously expanded its real estate operations and ventured into other businesses and partnerships as well. Trump's first major real estate deal in Manhattan was the remodeling of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in 1978 but he cemented his family's name in NYC's skyline with the 58-storey Trump Tower which was completed in 1983. The NY Trump Tower hosts Donald Trump's personal apartment along with the head office of the Trump Organization.
