'Frozen 2' spoilers; Olaf to get a love interest
Every girl's favorite Disney princesses are back. The studio has confirmed that a sequel to the hit movie "Frozen" is already in the works. "Frozen 2" will be the first sequel that will hit the big screen as other sequels went straight to video instead.
The movie will pick up where things left off. The animated short film titled "Frozen Fever," which was shown during the "Cinderella" movie, featured a more playful Elsa who dotes on Anna. The new movie will further explain the events in the short film.
Director Chris Buck spoke about seeing a different perspective from Elsa in the sequel as she continues to explore her brighter side. "In the previous production, Elsa had such a difficult journey, and finally she is just beginning to feel like she should be open and enjoys life again. That is what was good about her in 'Frozen Fever' follow-up sequel — we could enjoy with Elsa, and that bit will be unveiled in the next one," he said.
Anna's character will be explored more in this movie. The relationship between the sisters is still going to be a very vital part of the sequel. "We have two very strong female characters in 'Frozen.' We will sustain that in the next sequel. We will handle other issues that, I believe, are out there today that boys and girls, men and women, are facing," he added.
The cast is all set to return for the sequel. Idina Menzel, Kristin Bell, and Josh Gad are all reprising their roles in the film. However, there is no word yet on Jonathan Groff if he would be a part of the movie as he is Anna's love interest.
Elsa (Idina Menzel) will get a new dress, while Olaf (Josh Gad) will finally have a girlfriend. The widely popular single "Let it Go" will be an epic duet between the sisters. Also, the rumor that Elsa will die in the movie is totally untrue.
There is no official premiere date set yet for the movie, but it is expected to come out sometime in 2018.
