Fuchsia: Google's Rumored New Operating System to Combine Chrome OS and Android? [DETAILS]
Fuchsia is Google's Rumored New Operating System
Google is rumored to be secretly working on a new operating system called "Fuchsia."
Fuchsia is rumored to be Google's new unified operating system (OS). The company is looking to combine both the Chrome OS and Android together and Fuchsia may be the result.
New Google OS Fuchsia Details, Rumors
Techno Buffalo reports that Google has stated many times that they have no plans of merging their Chrome OS and Android platforms. However, there was a sighting that the company may be working secretly on it. Fuchsia is apparently an OS that can work both on mobile and desktop devices.
The references to Google's Fuchsia were reportedly seen on Phoronix. There was an equation that cited the OS, "Pink + Purple == Fuchsia (a new Operating System)." According to the outlet, the new OS is original and uses Magenta kernel for computers and smartphone devices. It apparently uses the LK kernel for smaller systems as well.
Google to Secretly Unify All Operating Systems?
The two kernels come together in Fuchsia and could unify Google's operating systems, according to the documentation.
"LK is a Kernel designed for small systems typically used in embedded applications…." Ubergizmo noted. "On the other hand, Magenta targets modern phones and modern personal computers with fast processors, non-trivial amounts of RAM with arbitrary peripherals doing open-ended computation."
According to Inquisitr, the Fuchsia can apparently support the AArch64, ARM's 64-bit, and x86. This means that Fuchsia can easily support the Android OS or Chrome OS.
It is not clear why Google denies working on Fuchsia to unify their current operating systems as they have been blurring out the lines with their Chrome OS and Android in the last couple of months. According to the outlet, if Google will not unify the operating systems, they may have other plans for it.
A possibility would be to use Fuchsia as the base instead of Linux for new generation Chrome OS and Android software. Both platforms would have to use Fuchsia in some way in order to fully utilize all the functions created by Google for it.
Do you believe that Google is trying to stop the rumors by constantly denying the presence of Fuchsia and their work on it? Let us know what you think about a unified Google operating system in the comments below.
