Fullerton Coach Killed in Bizarre Double Murder; Police Have 'No Motive'
California State Fullerton's assistant women's basketball coach Monica Quan and her fiancé, Keith Lawrence, were found dead on Sunday evening, police have reported. Right now police are working to find any motive or suspect in the case, which has left the Cal State community stunned.
"It doesn't appear they were robbed," Irvine Police Lt. Julia Engen told The Orange County Register. "There's no obvious motive."
Quan and Lawrence were both shot to death and found in their car on the top floor of a parking complex near a high security condominium. They had both been shot multiple times and, according to The Los Angeles Times, police have ruled out the possibility of a murder-suicide.

The young couple had just announced their engagement and both had previously played basketball for Concordia University before Quan moved on to Cal. State Fullerton. While Quan decided to coach women's basketball, Lawrence became a campus officer at USC.
"We are a better department and the USC campus community is a safer place as a result of his service," John Thomas, executive director and chief of the security department, said in a statement.
Quan's friends and family held a vigil outside her high school, with numerous players and admirers showing their support for the family.
"The loss of any member of the Titan family causes our community great grief, but the loss of one of our own under these circumstances is indeed tragic and heart-wrenching. We hope that Monica's family and friends will feel and be comforted by our support during this difficult time," Cal State President Mildred Garcia said in a public statement.
"Very sad story out of Cal State Fullerton," tweeted AJ Avina. "An assistant murdered. Prayers go out to CSUF and the team."
"This world is crazy. RIP to the Cal State Fullerton coach and her husband that was found shot to death. This is very sad," added Antonio Biglow.
Many tributes have poured in on Facebook and Twitter from those expressing their grief at the sudden turn of events.
