Gaddafi Dead: Libyans Delay Gaddafi Burial Pending Inquiries (VIDEO)
As the world by now is aware, Col. Muammar Gaddhafi is dead. At this point, questions are being asked about the exact circumstances of that ignominious death.
What is known is that a NATO airstrike hit Gaddafi’s heavily armed convoy as it left his home town of Serte, where he had been hiding out for the past two months.
Hauled out of drainage pipe under a 6-lane highway, he was beaten and shot, but the exact circumstances of his beating and eventual death must be further examined, according to authorities, before the burial of the slain leader.
Libyans are uncertain about exactly where and how to bury the body of the slain dictator. Originally, the U.N. human rights office had called for an investigation into his death.
According to Islamic tradition, the dictator must be buried by Friday. The question is just where. His body must be cleaned, and not defiled.
These bloody images of Gadhafi in his last moments raise questions over his treatment minutes before his death, thus the U.N. inquiry.
And, though his son, Muatassim, was killed, the fate of Gaddafi’s one-time heir apparent Seif al-Islam was unclear, however provisional forces say they know where he is and it is just a matter of time before he, too, is found.
