Gaddafi Killed: Graphic Photos and Video of Muammar Gaddafi's Capture Circulate

As more reports of Muammar Gaddafi’s death have come in Thursday, more images of what appears to be the fallen Libya dictator bloodied and close to dead are also emerging. However, it is difficult to determine with complete accuracy whether or not those images, taken with cell phones in the midst of a battle, are indeed of Gaddafi.

Here is one of the main images circulating of Gaddafi, released by Reuters, which was taken in his hometown of Sirte as a battle raged there and the ousted leader was captured:

According to BBC News, a soldier who claims to have captured Gaddafi said the embattled former dictator had pleaded, "Don't shoot!" Gaddafi was reportedly found hiding in a hole, as shown in this photo:

However, an NTC official said Gaddafi was wounded in the head, and shot in both legs. "He's captured. He's wounded in both legs," NTC official Abdel Majid told Reuters. "He's been taken away by ambulance."

According to the Qatar-based news outlet, Abdul Hafiz Ghoga, vice chairman of Libya's National Transitional Council, confirmed that Gaddafi died in the battle near Sirte.

"We announce to the world that Muammar Gaddafi has been killed at the hands of the revolutionaries," Ghoga told a news conference in Benghazi.

The NTC finally captured Sirte after weeks of fighting in the area.
