'Galactic Civilizations 3: Crusades' News, Release Date: New Expansion to Arrive in Spring

Stardock has already announced a new expansion, Crusades, coming for "Galactic Civilizations 3." And according to their website, it will be released sometime this spring.

The upcoming expansion, the second for the game, will include a lot of new features for players to explore and take advantage of. Details have already been made available on the game's official website.

"The shield around Earth has been eliminated, but humanity has been anything but idle," the game's description reads. "Furious that their attempts at diplomacy and goodwill were met with treachery and violence, Earth has turned to its most valuable asset: its people. From spies trained in espionage to soldiers ready to invade enemy planets, the galaxy is ready for a crusade."

There will also be new characters to meet as the expansion will introduce new civilizations like the Terran Resistance and the more primitive Slyne. Apart from that, citizens will also be introduced and players can select from a variety of roles like admiral, engineer and even celebrity. Of course, it is entirely up to the player what to do with these roles.

Players can aso create custom factions with leaders, ideologies and abilities. It will be like playing God as gamers can also create a new language for their faction, as well as assemble a galactic navy to protect and serve the new group.

New game features like being able to train in espionage and invading other civilizations will also be included. Spies have a wide array of abilities such as stealing technologies from others, sabotage, spreading rumors and even assassinating enemies. In the case of invasions, a player's strategic skills will come into play.

But these are only a few of the features that will be unveiled with the Crusades expansion. There are plenty more to explore and unravel when the new content gets released, but fans will have to wait until spring to get their hands on it. An exact date has yet to be revealed.
