Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean Update Rolled Out by Verizon
The Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean update began being rolled out by Verizon this past weekend.
The carrier finally settled on a build of the software after many grueling months of testing. Android 4.1, was finally approved by Verizon earlier this month who began issuing the build known as JRO03O over the weekend.
The update is only available over Wi-Fi until Oct. 1, so those waiting for a notification on 4G will not receive one. If the update does not show up when connected to Wi-Fi than the user must go to Settings>Apps>All, find Google Services Framework, force close it and clear data, then check for the update again.

The Galaxy Nexus 2 release could be approaching as the specifications for the handset were recently discovered in a User Agent Profile.
The profile contained a device under the codename GT-i9260, which is believed to be the Galaxy Nexus 2.
Specifications on this device include a 720 x 1280 display with an ARM 11 processor.
Various tech publications have raised questions over the ARM 11 processor as it really has not been used in many of the newer smartphones. However, the ARM 11 included in this device could be a new version made specifically for the Galaxy Nexus 2.
Samsung and Google have already begun working on a successor to the wildly popular Samsung Galaxy Nexus, according to some publications.
This device will debut running Android 4.1, JellyBean software or Android 5.0, Key Lime Pie. However, none of this information has been officially confirmed by the company.
Last year's Galaxy Nexus made headlines when it introduced the world to the highly anticipated Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich software. Samsung seems to have a handle on creating devices that optimize the Android experience, and the original Galaxy Nexus.
