Galaxy Nexus Release Date: Galaxy S3 vs. Galaxy Nexus
Google’s Galaxy Nexus smartphone is arguably the most anticipated upcoming Android powered handset, but the follow up to Samsung’s Galaxy S2 might prove to be even more impressive.
The Galaxy S2 was deemed the “iPhone killer,” and the smartphone may have even hurt the sales of Apple’s handset, but it stood no chance against the new iPhone 4S which Apple reports has moved over 4 million units in just three days.
The Galaxy Nexus features specs that make it superior to the iPhone 4S in many ways including its new operating system, Ice Cream Sandwich.

However, the follow up to the Galaxy S2 might become Samsung and Google’s true ace in the hole.
In terms of specs, the Galaxy S3 out does the Galaxy Nexus.
Some information was leaked last month regarding the Galaxy S3’s specifications, but this information is subject to change since Samsung has not officially confirmed anything regarding the device.
4Chan revealed this information in a recent post.
The current planned specs for the Galaxy S3 include a 2.0GHz quad-core CPU, 1.5GB RAM, 32 GB of internal memory with an SD card slot and a 4.65 inch screen.
Both devices will have the same sized screen, but with the addition of the Super AMOLED 3, which is being developed specifically for the S3, the display on the smartphone should overrun its competition.
The original Galaxy S featured the Super AMOLED, the Galaxy S2 had the Super AMOLED Plus and the next Galaxy will feature the third version of this screen which has 1280x1024 resolution, giving the new phone a ppi of 352.
This will give the device the highest ppi for a smartphone.
The Galaxy S3 is expected to launch in the first half of 2012.
The Galaxy Nexus will ship sometime in November.
