Galaxy Nexus Release Date: HTC Bloom Outdoes Galaxy Nexus
The Galaxy Nexus is expected to launch sometime before the end of this month, but developer Hasan Kaymak recently created a concept for the HTC Bloom, and if the specifications on the smartphone are real, the Nexus has some true competition.
The Bloom will be the first HTC smartphone to run Ice Cream Sandwich upon its release, making it a direct competitor for the Nexus, the flagship device for the new Android software.
According to Kaymak’s idea, the HTC Bloom will sport a 4.7-inch 720p HD display along with a 1.8GHz dual-core processor.
This screen outdoes the Galaxy Nexus’s, because that device will have a 4.65-inch display and less powerful processor.
It also makes the Bloom a better smartphone to view the new Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and HTC Sense 4.0 user-interface.
The concept also shows the Bloom boasting a 12-megapixel camera with dual LED flash, a 2-megapixel front camera for video calls and unique LED lights on the bottom side.
Other features include Bluetooth 4.0 and 4G LTE capabilities. In terms of size, it will be 8.5mm thick.
The bezel on the concept is practically nonexistent with the screen reaching the very ends of both sides of the smartphone.
The 12-megapixel camera should place HTC ahead of the pack since most current high-end smartphones only have cameras with 8-megapixels.
The Galaxy Nexus will only sport a 5-megapixel rear camera, but it is still supposed to shoot impressive pictures, according to Samsung who revealed the device last month at its “Mobile Unpacked” event.
Ice Cream Sandwich also debuted at the media event, and both the Galaxy Nexus and the new Android software are expected to drop by the end of this month.
