Galaxy Nexus Release Date: Verizon Roadmap Update Reveals New US Release?

The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Nexus may finally have a United States release date on Nov. 21.

A leak of an updated Verizon Wireless "Roadmap" advertisement schedule revealed the release dates for several devices on the network, including smartphones, standard phones and tablets.

Along with a Nov. 21 release for the Galaxy Nexus, the Roadmap listed a Nov. 11 release for the Motorola DROID RAZR with an Oct. 27 pre-order availability and a Nov. 14 release for the HTC Rezound. Both smartphones were recently unveiled and their release dates confirmed.

The original Roadmap leak led industry insiders to believe the Galaxy Nexus could release during or around Black Friday, with most suggesting the smartphone could release after the holiday shopping weekend.

Until that leak, there had been no indication of a release date for the Galaxy Nexus.

At its Oct. 19 unveiling, Samsung and Google representatives announced that the Galaxy Nexus would release in November, but did not reveal a definitive date.

Verizon then announced in a statement that the Galaxy Nexus would release "later this year," but also has not confirmed an exact date.

Associates at several New York Verizon Wireless retail locations told The Christian Post they had no information on the release date of the Galaxy Nexus. The only confirmed release date for the Galaxy Nexus is Nov. 17 in the United Kingdom.

The original Roadmap detailed that the Galaxy Nexus would release as part of the "Samsung Holiday Portfolio." The updated Roadmap detailed another Samsung smartphone will release on Nov. 17, the Samsung Illusion.

Until recently, there has been little news of any other Samsung smartphone releasing other than the Galaxy Nexus.
