Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Update Release Schedule Leaked for AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint
The Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update schedule for U.S. carriers AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint leaked onto the internet earlier this week.
The internal schedule was posted onto the net by tech site Android Police who had it verified by two additional sources. It also included Android 4.3 software rollout dates for the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3.
The update for the Galaxy Note 2 will begin rolling out on Verizon starting on Nov. 29, on AT&T on Nov. 20, on Sprint Nov. 20 and T-Mobile on Dec. 2.
If this list turns out to be accurate, all four major carriers will have the device updated to Android 4.3 before the end of this year. This update will allow all Galaxy Note 2s to be compatible with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch.
The schedule also included the rollout dates for the less popular Galaxy S4 Active handset. However, only AT&T currently offers the device so there were no dates for the other three carriers. AT&T will begin rolling it out on Dec. 24.
The Galaxy S4 should start receiving the update on 10/28 on Verizon, 11/13 on AT&T, 10/30 on Sprint and 11/18 on T-Mobile. The Galaxy S3 will get it on Verizon starting on 11/22, AT&T on 11/13, Sprint on 11/6 and T-Mobile on 11/25.
Android 4.3, JellyBean was introduced back in the summer of this year alongside the 2013 version of the Nexus 7 tablet. The software comes preinstalled in the device and brings some new features to the Android operating system.
The next major update expected to be announced by Google is Android 4.4 KitKat. That will be introduced with the new Nexus 10 tablet and Nexus 5 smartphone sometime soon.
