Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat Update Leaks

The Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Galaxy Note 3 has leaked in the form of a new ROM.

CyanogenMod released its source code for the Galaxy Note 3 last week and various developers from the XDA Forums have already created preliminary ROMS for the smartphone-tablet hybrid.

Various features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Mobile Data, USB 3.0, External SD, SMS, Headphones, Speaker, 3D graphics, Camera and video camera, audio recording, notification LED, battery monitoring, S-Pen, front facing camera, and sensors all work, according to forum users.

Other ones such as Calling and NFC do not work at this time on the unofficial ROM. It was released shortly after the source code which means that it is unstable and should not be installed by those who are unfamiliar with custom software. Official ROMs for the Galaxy Note 3 should roll out in the coming weeks.

New accessories for the Galaxy Note 3 launched recently.

A new version of the S-View is available in both black and white and costs just $70 in the U.S. Samsung Store. In order to give the handset a charge, users must already own the Wireless charging plate. The S-View will let users see their clock and other information while it is placed across the screen.

Samsung also released a gamepad in select countries for the Note 3 which was announced earlier this month.

The accessory is known formally as "The Game Pad" and it is an exclusive Samsung product. It connects to the Note 3 via Bluetooth 4.0 and One-Touch NFC. It features a traditional game pad layout for those who dislike touchscreen controls.

It consists of dual analog D-Pads together with 4 action buttons. There are also a few buttons at the top and the bottom features an On/Off Switch and select and start keys. The Game Pad charges with a USB port. Samsung has not unveiled any information on battery life and overall potential.
