The Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 mini both received the Android 4.4.3, KitKat updates this week on Verizon.
The software brings new features to the Samsung handsets including SMS integration into Hangouts, Google printing, immersive mode and much more. There is also a number of bug fixes that have been high-lighted in each phone's change-log and Verizon and Samsung included some specific changes for them such as Samsung Knox 2.0 support and the inclusion of ISIS Wallet on the GS3.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.4.2 KitKat is now available to customers on AT&T. It includes several Samsung specific changes that affect Touchwiz's look and feel. There is also pre-loaded Beats Music with three months of free service with it.
The update is scheduled to roll out in stages so not all Galaxy S3 users on the carrier will get it at once. Users can check for it in the Settings menu under Software Update.
The Galaxy S3 is one of the older handsets to receive the latest Android software. The Galaxy S4 mini launched last year and probably should have gotten it sooner than the S3.
Both smartphones are still decent for today's standards and much of the success Samsung is currently having can be attributed to the roaring popularity of the Galaxy S3. The device's debut was definitely a turning point for the company. The S4 mini was a nice alternative to its bigger brother.
Samsung's current flagship, the Galaxy S5 has a mini and an Active model available that is water and dust proof. The S3 was the first version to have a mini and the S4 was the first for the Active line.
