The new upgrade brings a few new features to the device including the long awaited multi-window support, auto share shot with NFC, and other apps. It began rolling out today and can be downloaded OTA over-the-air. AT&T will begin notifying users about the update on August 7.

Multi-window allows users to open two different apps and run them simultaneously on the screen. Auto Share Shot lets users share photos and videos by tagging their Galaxy S3 with other NFC and S-Beam enabled devices.

The Camera on the device will now have paper artist and best faces options. There will also be new AT&T apps added including Drive Mode, AT&T Locker, Family Map, Live TV, and SmartWifi along with enhancements to the calendar, SD Card and S Voice.

Other versions of the Galaxy S3 have already updated to the Android 4.1.2 software.

An updated version of the Android 4.1.2 update has been issued to Verizon customers.

The original version of the update caused some 4G LTE connectivity problems with the device and with the new one; they are being corrected. Verizon even pulled the original update around a week ago to ensure that this problem did not affect any more users.

The build number for the new version is JZ054K.I535VRBMF1, while the previous update was JZ054K.I535VRBMD3.
