Galaxy S3 Android 4.3, JellyBean Update Now Available for Verizon

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.3, JellyBean update is now available for Verizon users.

Verizon is the last of the four major U.S. carriers to roll out the software which also comes with Premium Suite. AT&T released it and ran into a few issues and ended up having to pull it and reissue later on.

Various changes come with the software including an updated interface that can also be found on 2013 Samsung flagships. The older launcher and widget style is still the same as before.

It also brings compatibility with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch, but lacks the addition of the Knox security suite. TRIM support has been improved and the update also brings updated GPU drivers, Daydream mode, Samsung's new keyboard and the ability to move apps to the SD card. New features are available on the camera app and there's a new lockscreen as well.

The update is now rolling out to the unlocked versions of the Galaxy S3 LTE. Carrier versions might take a bit longer to receive it.

The update started rolling out once again for the international version earlier this month.

The company stopped the update not too long ago due to certain issues users were having. Galaxy S3 owners noticed several performance and battery problems with the software and complained about it directly to Samsung influencing them to pull the plug on the initial roll out.

The new version of the firmware is available to owners of the GT-I9300 model. The update will bring full Galaxy Gear support, but does not come with Samsung Knox features. It can be installed OTA over-the-air or through Samsung KIES.

The Galaxy S3 launching in the spring of 2013 and quickly became one of Samsung's highest selling devices ever.
