Galaxy S3 Mini Release Date Confirmed for Oct. 11?
The rumored Galaxy S3 Mini release date could take place as early as Oct. 11 as the Korean electronics giant has sent out invites to an event where the device is expected to be unveiled.
The event will be in Berlin, Germany, the same place where Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 2 recently.
The invite for it reads: "So big can be small. And so small it can be big," and it features the company's signature S logo in the background.
A smaller flagship Galaxy device should make its debut at the event that Samsung will use to combat the recently released iPhone 5. One of Apple's new iPhone's main advantages over the Galaxy S3 is that it is more compact and easier to carry around. With the Galaxy S3's 4.8-inch screen, it is one of the largest smartphones to ever be released.
However, the bigger screen comes with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels making it deliver crystal clear picture for movies and games. Gaming is also made easier on its touchscreen since it is larger and easier to handle than thinner devices such as the Galaxy S2 and iPhone 4S.
In the war between the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S3, Samsung seems to have secured one significant victory in the U.K. as the smartphone is still the number one device in the nation despite the Apple smartphone's recent launch.
The data used to determine the winner was compiled by Mobile Tracker report from uSwitch. It shows that the latest figures of U.K. handset pre-orders and sales. It found that despite the mass excitement surrounding the recent Sept. 21 iPhone launch, the Galaxy S3 has remained the leading handset in the U.K. for the past month.
Even with Apple reporting the 5 million iPhone 5 units that were sold during the launch weekend, the smartphone ended up only being the fifth most popular device in U.K. popularity charts.
