Galaxy S3 vs. iPhone 5: Android Handset Becomes the World's Best-Selling Smartphone
The Samsung Galaxy S3 was the world's best-selling smartphone of the last quarter.
Reuters is reporting that the handset out sold Apple's iPhone, which has been number one for over two years.
The data used for the report was compiled by Strategy Analytics.
"Samsung's Galaxy S3 has proven wildly popular with consumers and operators across North America, Europe and Asia," said analyst Neil Mawston. He also feels that the iPhone 5 will reclaim the top spot for Apple in the near future.
The Galaxy S3 helped Samsung to post record $7.3 billion operating profit for the July-Sepember quarter.
The handset also sold twice as fast as its predecessor the Galaxy S2, according to other reports.
The Galaxy S3 Mophie Juice Pack launched recently and is available for $99.95.
The accessory is a battery case that doubles an S3 user's ability to perform most tasks including talking, surfing the web, and sharing media.

Galaxy S3 owners can purchase the new Juice Pack online at mophie.com and it will also be available in select retailers nationwide.
Features on the case include a custom design that is ultra-thin, lightweight, and protective. It also allows the user to sync up with USB connections without it having to be removed.
The case features an on/off toggle switch that allows for standby and charging mode that gives users the ability to dictate when they need extra juice. The case also comes with 4 integrated LED status indicators that notify the user of how much battery power they have left and displays how much charge time remains when the case is plugged in.
