Galaxy S3 Vs. iPhone 5: Samsung Releases Titanium Gray Model to Compete With Apple
The Galaxy S3 vs. iPhone 5 war is far from over as Samsung just released its new Titanium Gray model of the hit smartphone on T-Mobile.
This new variant of the device went on sale through the carrier earlier this week, with many T-Mobile retail stores receiving it to sell.
The Titanium Gray Galaxy S3 comes with 16GB of internal storage.
Other specifications on the handset include Android 4.1.1, JellyBean, and advanced 8-megapixel camera with LED Flash, a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and NFC (near-field-communications) capabilities.
The new model retails for $279.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate card.
Apple appears to be taking a cue from Samsung as its next-generation iPhone is rumored to be coming out in multiple colors.
Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White predicts that Apple will launch the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 in at least 6-8 colors. He also believes that Apple launched the 5th-generation iPod Touch in multiple colors in order to test the waters for the next-generation iPhone. The strategy appears to have working with the media, so Apple should now be implementing it into both the iPhone and the iPad in the near future.
White also predicts that Apple will release the next-generation iPhone with different screen sizes in order to capture more market share in places such as China and India.
His theory on the next iPhone's screen size points to Apple releasing a few different variants, with some made for the low-end market. Apple could better penetrate markets such as China and open up opportunities in India with a lower-end model.
Samsung released the Galaxy S3 with different screen sizes with the Galaxy S3 Mini.
