Galaxy S4 Android 4.3, JellyBean Update Pulled by AT&T
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3, JellyBean update was recently pulled by AT&T.
The carrier together with Samsung is currently investigating some potential issues with the build. There is no word on when it will continue to roll out. It could just be a temporary delay.
Many users have already downloaded and installed the update. AT&T did not state the exact reason why it pulled it. Various reports have revealed that users have had issues with Wi-Fi and cellular connections along with a few random bugs.
This is actually the second time that Samsung has pulled an Android 4.3 update this month with the first being the Korean and U.K. versions of the Galaxy S3.
The update started rolling out earlier this month for AT&T users. The new software was available over-the-air and is 719MB in size.
The update will bring support for the new Galaxy Gear smartwatch, Samsung's Knox secure work environment, and a slew of under the hood improvements, such as support for OpenGL3.0, TRIM command, better RAM management, and enhancements to Samsung's proprietary apps.
The smartphone also received a slight speed boost thanks to some of the tweaks that have been applied with it.
The update will bring the firmware to build number JSS15J.1337UCUEMJ9 and can be downloaded through checking for software updates in the Settings menu. Android 4.3 has already rolled out for other major American carriers such as Sprint, Verizon and U.S. Cellular. T-Mobile is the only one who has not released it yet.
Android 4.3 was introduced alongside the new Nexus 7 tablet earlier this year.
The software is one of two major updates to be released in 2013 as Google also recently unveiled Android 4.4 KitKat, which debuted with the Nexus 5 smartphone.
