Galaxy S4 Release Date Confirmed by Samsung for March 14

The Galaxy S4 release date was confirmed by Samsung for March 14 as the company sent invites to the event today where the device will be unveiled.

The invite reads "come and meet the next Galaxy," and also uses a numerical "4" in place of the word "four" where it says "ready 4 the show," further hinting at a Galaxy S4 unveiling for this date.

Samsung's mid-March announcement for the handset was revealed in previous rumors and the company is expected to begin shipping the device sometime in April. This event will take place in Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Pictures of Samsung Galaxy S4 cases surfaced on a U.K. smartphone site last week.

The site, known as mobilefun.co.uk, claims to have received these leaked cases from Chinese suppliers, who appear to know enough about the device to begin making accessories for it.

Judging from the look of the cases, the smartphone will have either a 4.99-inch or 5-inch display, which will most likely be at 1080p Full HD resolution. The cases also indicate that its camera will be mounted in the middle and the device will also have rear speaker on the side of the camera. The headphone jack and lock button are located at the upper right, while the volume buttons are located on the left side. The micro USB is at the bottom.

The Galaxy S4 is also rumored to be featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset instead of the Exynos 5 Octa it was originally expected to use for power.

This rumor was taken from a South Korean media site that stated that Samsung's new Exynos 5 Octa-core chipsets would consume too much power and generate too much heat if used to power the company's next flagship smartphone.
