Galaxy Tab 3 Vs. Galaxy Tab 2: New Version Features Better Graphics

Recent Benchmark tests pitted the Galaxy Tab 3 against the Galaxy Tab 2 and the results showed that the new version has better graphics.

The change in graphic quality could be attributed to Samsung's use of Vivantech GPU and the extra 0.2 GHz, according to a report from YouMobile.

Judging from the benchmark results, it can be seen that the major different between the two is the frame rates.

The Galaxy Tab 3 was unveiled earlier this week and many Samsung fans were disappointed with its underwhelming specs. The new tablet features a sleek design along with enhanced capabilities that bring "better performance and multimedia experiences to the user's fingertips," according to Samsung.

"With the new Galaxy Tab 3, Samsung has evolved its range of innovative tablets, making them smaller and easier to carry, while increasing the user experience overall," wrote the company in a press release.

Specifications on the new tablet include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 7-inch display with 1024x600 resolution, Android 4.1, JellyBean, a 3-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front camera, 3G+Wi-Fi connectivity, and a 4,000 mAh battery.

The Galaxy Tab 2 features similar specs including a 1024 x 600 display, a 3-megapixel camera, 3G connectivity, and a 4,000 mAh battery. The main differences between the two appear to be the processor, and the new model's front 1.3 megapixel camera. Other than those factors, the two devices are close to being identical.

Samsung is also expected to release an 8-inch tablet that could feature more updated specifications including a quad-core processor and a screen with a better resolution. However, that version has not yet been confirmed.

The Galaxy Tab 3 will launch sometime this month.
