Galaxy Tab 4 Release Date Announced for May 1, Price Set for $200
The Galaxy Tab 4 release date in the U.S. is set for May 1.
Samsung issued a press release earlier today confirming this information. The tablet series was originally announced for a Q2 launch and now the actual date has become available. Certain retailers will start offering pre-orders tomorrow.
"This latest addition to Samsung's Galaxy Tab family combines versatility with value," said Michael Abary, senior vice president of mobile computing, Samsung Electronics America. "The HD display, multitasking capabilities and easy sharing features make the Galaxy Tab 4 a great fit for both consumers and businesses."

The Galaxy Tab 4 models will be offered through various retailers and carriers including Amazon, Best Buy, Fry, Office Depot, OfficeMax, PC Richard and Son, Sears and Tiger Direct. Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon will offer 4G LTE variants by the summer.
The Wi-Fi models will be priced at $199 for the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, $269.99 for the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and $349 for the 10.1-inch model.
All three of them will come with LCD screens with 1280 x 720 resolution in 16:10 format, 1.2GHz processors with 1.5GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD slot.
The 7-inch model comes with Android 4.4 KitKat, a 3-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front camera and has both Wi-Fi and 3G capabilities.
The Tab 4 models feature a Note 3-like textured back cover with the leather looking plastic look. All three will be available in Black and White.
Samsung's own custom apps will also make their way to the slates including Multi Window, Samsung Link, WatchON, and Group Play.
"The new Galaxy Tab4 line is perfect for the whole family as it comes equipped with a number of fun and shareable services allowing users to access content and stay connected with friends wherever they are," the company added.
