Galaxy Tab 4 Release Date Scheduled for February
The Galaxy Tab 4 release date will be later this month.
A new report from ZDNet stated that Samsung is preparing to unveil the new Galaxy Tab 4 line at its upcoming Mobile World Congress 'Unpacked' event in Barcelona on Feb. 24.
The new tablets will take the place of the Galaxy Tab 3 and will feature more advanced specs and come in three different size options including 7-inch, 10.1-inch and 8-inch models. Specs for all three of these versions leaked onto the internet earlier this week.
The Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 will feature an equipped 8-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 and will have a quad-core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, a 3-megapixel front camera, a 1.3-megapixel rear camera and a 6800mAh battery. Android 4.4 will come pre-installed on the device.
The Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 will come in Wi-Fi and 3G variants. The main difference between the 7-inch and 8-inch versions is internal storage as the smaller model will only come with 8GB. It will also require a less powerful 4450mAh battery.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 will feature Wi-Fi, 3G and LTE variants. It comes with the largest screen of the three and has a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, and a higher resolution camera with 8-megapixels on the rear and 3-megapixels on the front.
The 7-inch and 10.1-inch models will also come with Android 4.4 KitKat on-board.
There is no word on when these three models will be introduced, but it could be as soon as the end of this month as Samsung will hold an "Unpacked" event on Feb. 24 where many devices are expected to debut.
