Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 Release Date Scheduled for March 9, Prices Announced
The Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2-inch model is scheduled for a March 9 release date.
Retailers such as Samsung's Store, Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and NewEgg will all begin carrying the device on that date and will offer it for $649.99 for the 32GB model.
The Galaxy Tab Pro models were introduced by Samsung earlier this year. The 10.1-inch and 8.4-inch versions are currently available through select retailers. The 12.2-inch model is significantly more powerful than the smaller versions making the price tag a bit higher.
The Tab 12.2 comes with a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU with an Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM, a 12.2-inch LCD display with 2560 x 1600 resolution, 32/64GH storage, microSD, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera and a 9500 mAh battery. Samsung promises that $800 worth of premium apps, services and special promotions will be available with the device.
The Tab Pro line launched alongside the Note Pro which features similar specs.
Specifications for that tablet include a 12.2-inch Super Clear LCD display with 2560 x 1600 resolution, a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 8-megapixel camera with LED Flash and Full HD video recording, 2-megapixel front camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, GPS and GLONASS, an infrared sensor, 9500mAh battery, Android 4.4 KitKat and the classic S Pen stylus.
The device will feature a Multi-Window ability, which will allow users to split the screen into between two and four separate windows, which replicates the multitasking capabilities found on a PC. It will come with Hancom Office, which is a word processing application that allows users to work on spreadsheets and presentations. It also comes with Remote PC, which will let users remotely connect to their PC and work on files found in their device.
