'Game of Thrones' Cast Teams Up With Coldplay's Chris Martin for 'GoT' Musical (VIDEO)
The cast of HBO's "Game of Thrones" has teamed up with Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin to create a "Game of Thrones" comedy musical skit for Red Nose Day.
Coldplay lead Chris Martin has collaborated with the cast of HBO's "Game of Thrones" to create a series of musical skits to support Red Nose Day to support fundraising for poverty stricken children in Africa and the U.K.
The musical parodies have been compiled documentary-style featuring the actors from the critically acclaimed fantasy epic series, including Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Nicholaj Coster-Waldau, and Kit Harington, all of whom displayed their singing talents in the name of charity.
Several videos from the 12-minute musical have been released online so far featuring "GoT" main stars performing songs about some of the famous and infamous scenes in the series : Emilia Clark, who plays Daenerys Targaryen did a reggae parody in tribute to her own character.
Peter Dinklage, whose Tyrion Lannister role has been the most enduring in the series so far, gloated over his continuing presence in the last five seasons, having survived being killed off in the gristly show, complete with backup singers.
Nicholaj Coster-Waldau channeled his Jamie Lannister character in a soft ballad dedicated to Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), while accompanying himself on the piano.
Kit Harrington has also been featured as Jon Snow singing the rock song, "Wildling," for Ygritte (Rose Leslie).
Chris Martin said, tongue-in-cheek, that the only thing missing is "A Song of Ice and Fire" author, George R.R. Martin's permission to release the musical to prevent violating copyright laws, Mashable reported.
The Red Nose Day Special aired on NBC last Thursday with a series of comedy skits has been created for the benefit of Red Nose Day, sponsored by Comic Relief UK, and held every two years for several charities. Since its inception in Britain in 1988, it has raised over £78 million ($122 million) for children and young people living in poverty.
