'Game of Thrones' Season 4 Spoilers: New Episode 'Loses Total Control'
"Game of Thrones" returns to HBO this Sunday with its third installment to season four, entitled "Breaker of Chains."
Fans of the fantasy adventure series are still in shock over the outcome of the Purple Wedding and King Joffrey's death, but this week is sure to pack even more surprises. For spoilers, read on.
The grief-stricken mother of the groom, Cersei, immediately blames Tyrion for the death of her son, the king, and Tyrion is carried off by guards, which is where this week's "GOT" will pick up. After Joffrey's death, finger pointing begins, targeting not only Tyrion, but also Oberyn Martell and Sansa Stark. Director Alex Graves offered more on season four.
"I think the thing is that like any death in Game of Thrones and Ned Stark's being a great example, every death is not an end to a story; it is the beginning of a story," he said, according to Deadline. "Joffrey's death turns a new page in the book but ok, what a page it turns to. And the season basically starts there and loses total control."
Meanwhile, just two days after the season four premiered on HBO, the network renewed "Game of Thrones" for both a fifth and sixth season. The show has won numerous awards and nominations, including Emmy, Golden Globe and Hugo Awards for best dramatic television series. Furthermore, Peter Dinklage earned the Emmy and the Golden Globe for best actor for his role as Tyrion Lannister.
"Game of Thrones" airs Sundays on HBO at 10 p.m. EST. The synopsis for this week's "Breaker of Chains" is as follows: "In the frenzied aftermath of the royal wedding, Tyrion gets a visit from a loyal subject, but wonders if anyone in his own family will help him out of his current predicament. Meanwhile, Tywin offers to work for the common good with a presumed enemy; Sam takes stock of the personnel at Castle Black; the Hound gives another life lesson to Arya; and Daenerys makes a decision outside the walls of Meereen."
