'Game of Thrones' Season 5 Spoilers, Plot News: George R.R. Martin Tells Fans To Expect More Shocking Deaths

George R.R. Martin has warned fans to expect more shocking deaths when "Game of Thrones" Season 5 premiers this April.

"A Song of Fire and Ice" bestselling author, George R. R. Martin revealed hints of unexpected deaths of beloved characters when HBO's Game of Thrones Season 5 makes its debut two months from now.

Martin made a surprise appearance at the Writers Guild of America Awards on Saturday where he disclosed some key information on the plot for Season 5 of the show.

"People are going to die who don't die in the books, so even the book readers will be unhappy," the "GoT" novelist divulged in an exclusive interview with Showbiz 411. "So everybody better be on their toes. David and D.B. [referring to 'Game of Thrones' creators, Benioff and Weiss] are even bloodier than I am."

With readers of his epic Seven Kingdoms saga on tenterhooks over speculations the sixth book in the series, "The Winds of Winter" is set to be released this year, news of even more GoT casualties constitutes another blow to their expectations.

Martin also spoke about the pros and cons of being a hugely successful author, and how to deal with the successes as well as the drawbacks.

Despite the huge popularity his books, and its hit television series spinoff, Martin maintains a nonchalant attitude towards the longevity of the GoT series, noting how television remains an extremely changeable medium, with no guarantees over the show lasting until its seventh or eighth season.

However, Martin assured fans that whether or not the HBO series lasts, he still intends to finish his epic fantasy saga to the last and seventh book, "The Dream of Spring." With each book averaging 1,500 pages each, fans can rest easy there will be a surplus of material enough to cover several more seasons of GoT shows.
