'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Premiere Date & Spoilers: Season Premiere Delayed, New Casts Join Show

To wait for the return of "Game of Thrones" is already an agony for the fans. To hear that the sixth season has been pushed back from its original premiere date is making it worse.

According to Wet Paint, "Game of Thrones" season 6 will most likely start by May 2016. This could be the latest start of the show so far. The third season has been the earliest since it premiered on March 31. Season 4 started on April 6 while season 5 premiered on April 12. The fate of the sixth installment can only mean that it could be even later. But what's causing the holdup?

Vanity Fair detailed that it's because of a new show that is coming this winter. As reported by the source, HBO has announced that their new drama titled "Vinyl" will premiere in February, taking over the usual time slot of "Game of Thrones" which is every 9 p.m. on Sundays.

The new show will run for ten weeks and if it sticks to airing one episode per week, the finale of the season will air on April 17. This raises the speculation that the upcoming season will premiere on April 24. Fans can only hope that it doesn't go later than that.

While waiting, fans are scoring some spoilers that are popping out every now and then. And just when some have already been convinced that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is forever dead, a confirmation from Den of Geek says that he is alive and kicking for season 6. The source stated that Watchers on the Wall spotted Harington in Belfast at the time the production started. Later on, set photos were sent in wherein it showed Harington all dressed up in medieval clothes and doing scenes for an epic battle.

Aside from Harington, Bran Stark, played by Isaac Hempstead Wright, is also making a comeback. Many new faces will also grace the show including Pilou Asbæk as Balon Greyjoy, Max von Sydow as the Three-Eyed Raven and Ian McShane, whose role is yet to be revealed.
