Is the High Sparrow to Blame for Shocking Death on GOT Finale?
The shocking finale of "Game of Thrones" Season 6 started off with a bang -- literally. The eerie beginning of "Winds of Winter," the final episode of "Game of Thrones" Season 6, staged an explosive turn of events when Cersei's trial took an unexpected turn.

The GOT finale episode showed the tragic death of a fan favorite, Margaery Tyrell while the Sept of Baelor was eatin in a wild blaze of wildfire.

After the trial of Loras, the crowd was waiting for Cersei's arrival to start her trial. However, Margaery sensed that something was wrong when Cersei did not show up. Because of that, she urged the High Sparrow to let everyone evacuate the Sept of Baelor.
Unfortunately, the High Sparrow did not let them leave, which led to their demise. As it turned out, Cersei used her remaining stock of magical wildfire to blow up everyone at the trial, leading to the death of Margaery and the High Sparrow.
Natalie Dormer on the Epic Ending
Harpers Bazaar was able to speak to the actress who plays Margaery, Natalie Dormer. Dormer explained that her character's death was at the fault of the High Sparror himself.
She said, "Margaery's been playing the game, she's been trying to get her and her brother out the best way she thought she could: by cutting a deal. Margaery is a fatality of the High Sparrow underestimating Cersei."
Nevertheless, she explained that she was happy with how the scene turned out, since the rivalry between Cersei and Margaery has been going on for quite awhile now.
"It seemed an exciting, fitting way to depart. Margaery's been battling Cersei for the last however many years and she ends up dying on the show not because she didn't beat Cersei, but because she trusted that someone else -- the Sparrow -- was handling her," Dormer explained. "She had the reins taken away from her, from being in control of the situation; the High Sparrow took the reins and it proves that he underestimated Cersei in a way that Margaery never would have."
Though many fans were sad to see Margaery go, many applauded the scene as it served as a justified ending to the epic season of "Game of Thrones" Season 6.
